HELPFUL PARKING TIPS FOR PERMIT HOLDERS

  • Properly Display Your Parking Permit:
    • If using a sunshade, ensure the permit is visible on rearview mirror or on driver-side dashboard.
  • Park Only in Designated Zones:
    • Park only in the zone that corresponds to the permit you’ve purchased to avoid any parking violations. Be sure to park responsibly, between two white lines or at a bumper barrier.
  • Observe Parking Restrictions:
    • Never park in spaces designated with special signage, such as ADA, reserved, or loading zone areas.
  • Citation Appeals and Payments:
    • If you receive a citation, you can appeal or pay:
    • Online at pats.unm.edu -> “My Parking Account
  • Visit our Business Office, Monday–Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Check pats.unm.edu/citations/index.html for enforcement hours, citation payment, appeal process, and more.

VISITOR PARKING

Pay Station Parking:

  • Parking in surface lots around campus, visitors are required to enter their license plate number at the pay station to pay for hourly parking.
  • In the parking structures, visitors should enter the parking stall number at the pay station for hourly parking payment.
  • Please ensure to pay for the exact duration of your stay to avoid any inconvenience. Overstaying the paid duration may result in penalties or towing.
  • For comprehensive information, including parking rates and instructions for visitor parking on UNM campuses, visit our website at pats.unm.edu/parking/visitors.html.
  • Please be aware that certain areas on campus are designated for permit holders only. Visitors should park only in designated pay station areas to avoid receiving citations.

Contactless Payment Option:

  • To enhance the parking experience, we highly recommend downloading the ‘ParkMobile’ app. This app allows visitors to make faster, contactless payments and easily renew their parking time within the Yale and Cornell parking structures.
